About Us

Next concert:  Sun 4th July 2010 - Michelmersh Barns - 7:30 p.m.

The choir perform three regular concerts a year: Christmas, Easter and a summer concert. Christmas and Easter performances usually take place in the wonderful setting of Romsey Abbey, which dates from the 12th century and provides a unique atmosphere and a fine acoustic for our wide-ranging programmes of sacred music.

We have been fortunate to find a number of lovely gardens for our summer concerts, among them Mottisfont Abbey Gardens, Sir Harold Hillier Gardens and Landford House. We aim to ensure audiences enjoy our selections of unaccompanied secular pieces as much as they obviously do their picnics!

Rehearsing for summer concert 2007 - it rained....

Over the years we have regularly visited English cathedrals and provided the music for services at times when the resident choir is unavailable.

Our recordings have been broadcast on local and national radio. Our first CD, In Dulci Jubilo, was released in December 1996 and  featured carols recorded in Romsey Abbey.

We were invited by Classic FM to record a track for inclusion in their 1998 CD of Christmas Carols, and we were one of a small number of choirs across the country selected by them to take part in their carol concerts in Liverpool Anglican Cathedral in 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001.

We are available to sing at wedding ceremonies and have enjoyed our past engagements in Romsey Abbey, Salisbury Cathedral and other places locally.

In addition to our UK travels, we have undertaken three successful tours to France (1990 and 1993) and Italy (1997).
